Ortho-Bionomy® Basics
Reminding the Body of Its Natural Ability to Heal
Hello, Larisa here. :) Just a quick note to say I enthusiastically recommend this training and am personally responsible for bringing Sara to town to provide this workshop. If you have any questions, please contact me directly.
“I was delighted to be in Sara’s classroom. As an Advanced Instructor, I felt that she was being Ortho-Bionomy as well as teaching it.
Her language, demonstrations, and attention to the students created focus and respect, as well as that light-hearted spirit and magic we associate with Ortho-Bionomy.
The students resonated with it and got it. Her wacky sense of humor allowed all of us to lighten up.” – Jim Berns, Registered Ortho-Bionomy Advanced Instructor
In this 18-hour Basics seminar you will learn:
- hands-on techniques to assess, relax, release, and re-educate the body, joint by joint (spine, pelvis, ribs, shoulders, limbs).
- a compassionate, affirming way to connect with another (and yourself).
- history, philosophy and concepts underlying the techniques.
A gentle, profound approach to healing that everyone can learn, by the end of this seminar you will be able to put your new skills into practical use to help ease the pain and stress of those you love!
This course is for you if:
- someone you love is experiencing chronic pain and you want to improve your hands-on ability to help them feel better.
- you are sick of approaches that only treat the symptom or that cover up/mask the pain.
- you are looking for a holistic approach to pain; one that honors the body’s natural healing abilities.
- you want to learn some simple, immediately applicable techniques to help yourself, your loved ones and/or your clients.
- you hold the belief that healing comes from within and want to learn more about the body’s healing processes.
- you work in a healing profession and want simple techniques that work and are easy on your own body.

Meet your instructor!
Sara Sunstein, M.A., Registered Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy
The human body—our abilities to adapt, heal, sense, and know by sensing—creates unceasing awe and delight for me. With 30 years of practice and teaching, I’ve learned that bodies are eager to heal; given a nudge in the right direction they’re off and running. It’s an honor and a joy to facilitate such a process.
After Ortho-Bionomy® healed a serious injury, I became an Ortho-Bionomy Practitioner and then an Instructor in 1985.
I feel fortunate to include Ortho-Bionomy founder, Arthur L. Pauls, D.O., and somatic pioneers Peter Levine, Ph.D., (physiology of trauma) and Don Hanlon Johnson, Ph.D. (body-based psychology) among my teachers.
While studies in bodywork and body-based psychology provide the basis of my work, my love of Nature, art, and Buddhist dharma contribute their particular flavors to my practice. Presence, compassion, and playfulness are integral to my work—and life.
